Recent Purchases: Cats, Gudetama, Starbucks, & Skincare

I wanted to start a new series on my blog called "recent purchases". I'll give you one guess as to what the posts will contain...

To be honest, I have a lot of pictures on my phone of things that I would like to share but I can't. Most of the time, I can't really find an appropriate blog topic to use them with, or I don't have enough pictures to warrant making an entire blog post entry.

So, why not make a roundup post of all the things I've purchased throughout the week? It gives me a chance to share the pictures, practice doing flat lays, and I can use this as a way to budget! Seems like a good idea all around. So, without further ado, here's the very first of the series...

Thrifting in Japan: Don Don Down on Wednesdays

I can't remember where I've seen their logo before, but I know that I'd seen it. I had no idea what it was for, so I promptly ignored it... It wasn't until I was doing research on thrift stores, trying to find more in my area, that I came across it again...

Don Don Down on Wednesdays. 

That's a real mouthful. And that's the name of the thrift store that this caricature belongs to. Little did I know that, all this time, I wasn't walking past a bar. I was walking past a thrift store! So, as soon as I found this out, I looked for the closest one and was thrilled when I saw there was one right outside of Yokohama Station! I made a plan to visit on Wednesday.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm a Starbucks Lover. I love sweets, and I see Starbucks more as a candy shop than a coffee shop. For real coffee, I'll go elsewhere... But to satisfy my sweet tooth, I'll head to Starbucks.

Thrifting in Japan: Clap Hands in Yokohama

After my jaunt to Cosmo World, I decided to take a walk around and check out World Porters for lunch. Since I wasn't super hungry, I decided to take a walk through the different floors. I go to World Porters pretty often (Hawaiian Town!) so I'm familiar with a good number of the shops inside. However, I had never noticed (or maybe I noticed it, but I didn't pay any attention to it) a store called Clap Hands.

Thrifting in Japan: Watt Mann Super Recycle Shop

Talking with my friends, I only recently realized how often I go to thrift stores. I absolutely love thrifting in the States, and even more so in Japan. The standards for what stores will take are generally higher than a Goodwill or Salvation Army, so you're getting good quality clothes in Japan.

Watt Mann's is my current favorite thrift store in the area. Before moving to Yokohama, I had never heard of it before. I think it's a Kanagawa prefecture only store. There's one (relatively) near where I work, so I frequent it quite often. I always end up buying more than what I expected to.
